Dagmar saw Christopher, Mary Jo, and Mary this evening. She is working on breathing and pain is reducing a bit.

Look who’s here
Papa bear stopped by to visit with mama bear. They are comparing knee replacement notes. CPM or not?
A first short walk
Dagmar’s first short walk was a trip to the bathroom. 30 feet with assistance. Yay!
I’d rather have a baby
Dagmar is back! In her room now, she arrived complaining of pain and received some more meds. She said, “I’d rather have a baby, at least contractions come and go. This is just constant.” But now, twenty minutes later, she seems a bit more comfortable, sleeping a bit. Of course, some time soon they will be asking her to exercise. I imagine she won’t like that one bit!
Her room awaits
Dagmar will be in her room soon. Her direct number will be 614-775-6820.
Surgery went well
Dagmar’s doctor just let me know that her surgery went very well. “We got her knee all straightened out. She had lots of arthritis up there, but it went very well.”
She is in recovery and I should be able to join her within the hour.
Waiting
While I was waiting I took a few pictures of the hospital.
Ready to roll
I just left Dagmar in pre-op, soon to start with anesthetic. She may even get started a bit early.
The nurse tells me she should be up in the recovery room by 1pm and doing PT soon after that. Visiting probably best after 3pm.
Getting ready
Dagmar is all signed in at the hospital. If you need the ability to check on her status yourself, please contact me at 651-747-7200 (text, make sure to say who you are in case I don’t have your number) and I can share a “find code” that the hospital needs before sharing information with anyone. Her surgery starts at about 9:45 and it will be two hours or so before I see her after that, so no real news until Noonish at best.
She was understandably nervous, but happy to find the catholic chapel in the waiting area.
Welcome to the news about Dagmar’s knee surgery
Alex and I just set up this site to help share news about Dagmar’s knee surgery with family. We go to the hospital at 7:15am and her surgery is scheduled to start at 9:45 or so. More news when we learn it in the morning. Feel free to leave comments on this site, I will share them with Dagmar. …Eric
