Dagmar’s digestion is better thanks to Mary Jo’s assistance last night, prune juice, and some laxative medication. She now has a bunch of fruit in the room for herself and visitors.
A visit from Pat and CPM
Pat visited today, just as Dagmar was getting acquainted with her new CPM (continuous passive motion) machine.
PT under way
Dagmar started her physical therapy routine at the rehab center today. A long walk down the hallway (she made it about halfway there), a number of stretches on a platform, and some range-of-motion work on a petal machine of sorts.
Settling in
Dagmar has arrived at the New Albany Gardens & Rehabilitation Center (5691 Thompson Road, Columbus, OH 43230). She expects to be here for the next two weeks. It will probably be easiest to reach her on her own cell number from here on out.
She has been moving around much better, though everything is still slow going. While she is still in pain, that too is a bit less.
Out for a drive
Dagmar has been discharged from the hospital to the New Albany Rehabilitation Facility. Busy day!
Checking out the website
Taking a look at the website after lunch.
Moving to Rehab
Today we are moving to the New Albany Rehabilitation Center. The move should take place some time this afternoon.
A walk down the hall
Dagmar walked to the red line in the hall today. This after going to the bathroom, sitting for lunch with me, and more. She is still in quite a bit of pain, but all-in-all the improvement over yesterday is evident.
Morning rounds
“Let’s get that knee moving,” was the verdict of the surgeon who visited Dagmar this morning. Dr. Morris made rounds for Dr. Berend, and he could not answer most of Dagmar’s questions since he had not been her surgeon. He promised to pass the list of questions along and get answers for her.
Bedtime
Is anyone surprised that this is how Dagmar falls asleep? Reminds me so much of Oma.
