Update
Afton Martens shared the following three documents for those who could not get to the meeting…
- The map of 2011 crimes (PDF) that SPPD Commander Matt Toupal shared of garage and residential burglaries in Mac-Grove (the dark dots indicate burglaries – there were 6 garage burglaries and 14 residential burglaries)
- Saint Paul Police Crime Prevention Programs (PDF)
- Crime Prevention Info from the Community Council (PDF)
Commander Toupal had included these tips in his presentation:
- Know who (of your neighbors) is home during the day – look out for one another.
- Call, call, call – a “suspicious person” is a raised priority for police calls.
- Work with district councils. Stay connected – pass these email notifications from the Macalester-Groveland Community Council along to neighbors!
- Serial numbers – have serial numbers on expensive items (snow blowers, bikes, tools, etc.). This will help the police connect these items back to their rightful owner if recovered.
- Remove personal items from your car (before you reach your destination).
- Don’t leave your car parked outside your garage with the door opener in it.
The emergency number is, as always, 9-1-1. The non-emergency number for the Saint Paul Police Department is 651-291-1111.
