Due to a number of recent burglaries in Macalester-Groveland (east of Snelling Avenue), the Community Council is holding a community meeting with the Saint Paul Police Department on Wednesday, November 30th at 7:00pm. Come to this neighborhood meeting to learn more about recent crime trends in the neighborhood, as well as crime prevention tips and information.Wednesday, November 30th, 7:00 pm

Commander Toupal had included these tips in his presentation:

• Know who (of your neighbors) is home during the day – look out for one another.
• Call, call, call – a “suspicious person” is a raised priority for police calls.
• Work with district councils. Stay connected – pass these email notifications from the Macalester-Groveland Community Council along to neighbors!
• Serial numbers – have serial numbers on expensive items (snow blowers, bikes, tools, etc.). This will help the police connect these items back to their rightful owner if recovered.
• Remove personal items from your car (before you reach your destination).
• Don’t leave your car parked outside your garage with the door opener in it.
